SITA Consortium Meets in Berlin

20–21 May 2025, Berlin

The SITA project consortium gathered for its 8th biannual meeting, hosted by Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), to assess progress and define future priorities on the path towards next-generation tandem solar technologies.

The two-day hybrid meeting brought together representatives from all partner institutions, with updates across six work packages. Key highlights included:

  • Progress in the development of wide-bandgap top cells, reporting transparent solar cells exceeding 10% efficiency.

  • Discussions on tandem module scaling, stability validation, and environmental performance.

  • Strategic planning on communication, data management, and IP exploitation.

  • A guided tour of HZB’s facilities showcasing current experimental setups and equipment.

The meeting underscored the consortium’s strong collaboration and reaffirmed the project’s mission: delivering durable, highly efficient, and sustainable solar modules using earth-abundant materials and proven architectures.
